Eight Hamilton County students and their teachers who submitted winning poetry in the company’s 15th annual Black History Month Poetry Contest, which celebrates African American “firsts” who broke barriers within the past ten years, were announced by EPB.
“Once again, our judges had the difficult task of selecting eight winners from the nearly 200 entries we received,” said Kelvin Boyd, EPB community relations specialist. “We are proud of the heart felt work that the students demonstrated by researching and studying the lives of people who have contributed so much to the advancement of science, sports, military and political leadership and the arts.”
