Roark, Velma Ethel Elizabeth

Velma Ethel Elizabeth Roark, 86, of Sale Creek, passed away Monday morning, June 10, 2019, at her home.

Velma was born in Rhea County on April 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert Theo and Nellie (Fraley) Sneed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tim Roark and two sisters, Theola Sneed and Willie Mae Sneed.

Velma was a graduate of Rhea Central High School. For many years she was employed as a seamstress at Robinson Manufacturing and then as an EKG technician at Erlanger Medical Center. She was fun loving, enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of the Sale Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Degges of Sale Creek, two granddaughters, Brandi Degges of Hixson and Randi (Brandon) Coppinger of South Pittsburg.

Funeral services for Velma will be held on Wednesday, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Wally Shipley and Mr. Tony Carter sharing. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Sneed Cemetery in Dayton on Thursday at 1 p.m.
