Here is the final list for the new Police Advisory and Review Committee:

District 1 ~ Rick Mincy

District 2 ~ Kay Baker

District 3 ~ Mary Anne Hensley

District 4 ~ Michael Watkins

District 5 ~ Christy Rashed

District 6 ~ Richard W. Gordon

District 7 ~ Chester Lee Clear

District 8 ~ Sylvester Harris

District 9 ~ Jaqueline Anderson Thomas

City Council members were surprised on Tuesday to find that Police Chief David Roddy had not been forwarded the list. However, it was not complete until the final two appointments on Tuesday night.

Councilman Ken Smith named Ms. Hensley and Chairman Erskine Oglesby chose Mr. Clear, owner of WNOO Radio station.

Councilwoman Carol Berz said, "Some of the members have been in place since April. My appointee asked why they had not heard anything."

She said, "My apologies. That's on our plate."

Councilman Darrin Ledford said, "I'm surprised too. You should have gotten the applicants a long time ago."

Chief Roddy said the new nine-member committee named by the council will take the place of the current Administrative Review Committee.

He said he would like to see the members of the new panel go through the Citizens Police Academy as a group. Also, he said he and City Attorney Phil Noblett would meet with the group for a two-hour briefing.
