Barking Legs has retuned to presenting Wednesday Jazz Online over the past several weeks. It has made big investments of resources and energy to up its game, moving from a single cell phone to three cameras (PTZ for you geeks out there) integrated with the 16 channel sound board. They have gone through several online platforms, and currently is back with Facebook for a variety of reasons.
Barking Legs is paying participating musicians the same as when they performed in the Lounge pre-pandemic, but it’s tough getting audience to buy into the unfamiliar format (and, of course, have no concession sales to help out). So officials are asking the public to give Wednesday Jazz Online a try. This week will be Alan Wyatt and Shawn Perkinson.
This Friday, the ongoing series in collaboration with Chattanooga Song Circle continues with The Briars. The Briars will provide an evening of live music in a COVID-safe outdoor setting with limited audience and masks.
Atlanta’s Duet for Theremin and Lap Steel will team up with dance artists Ann Law and Beth Markham Herring on Saturday, Oct. 17. These four created an unforgettable performance in the theater last year, and they have been plotting their way to make the Garden magical for this very special autumn evening, said officials.
