Fannie Mae Fields
Fannie Mae “Mrs. Dova” Fields, 96, passed away March 24, 2020 in Chattanooga.
She was born in Chickamauga, Ga. to the late Sam Porter and Fannie Walden Porter. She was educated in the Walker County School System and employed at Crystal Springs Mill for many years. She was a member of New Horizon Baptist Church. Her motherly wits were firm and loving. She taught us to love God and treat people with kindness and work hard. She always took care and fed anyone. Her passion was gardening; her yard stayed immaculate. She loved to dance; her favorite saying was “Fannie Mae Fields like to dance and kick up my heels” and that she did! She was the last of 21 children.
