Dr. Grace E. Phillips Ogle, 89, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on December 1, 2021, at a local health care facility.

Her parents, DeWitt and Edwinna Bain Phillips and a grandson, Cameron Roberts preceded her in death.

She was educated in the public schools of Virginia and Tennessee, graduating from Central High School in Chattanooga in 1949. From there she went to Mackenzie School of Business, and then worked for civil service in the Department of the Navy, the Department of the Army, the Social Security Administration and the US Bankruptcy Court. During these years, she earned a degree in business administration. She was an active member of City Gate Church, where she served in many different capacities, including teacher and church secretary.

Upon retirement, she continued her education, this time in theology. She earned a bachelor of Theology, master of Theology, doctorate of ministry and a doctorate of pastoral Christian counseling.
She and her husband Harold incorporated Still Waters Ministry, an agency that offered biblically based counseling in premarital counseling, marital counseling, substance abuse, and related topics.

She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Ogle of Cleveland, a son, Bishop David (Vickie) Byrd of Guatemala, a daughter, Laura Roberts of Cookeville, Tn., and a granddaughter, Melissa (Gustavo) Diaz of Guatemala, sister, Bettye Machen of Virginia Beach, Va., four great-grandchildren, several nieces nephews, and many personal friends from around the United States, as well as Guatemala, Mexico, Greece, Ghana  and Kenya.

The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
