Mitchell “Woot” Wooten, 62, passed away on April 20, 2021. 

 

Mitchell was a 1976 graduate of Central High School in Harrison, where he was voted “wittiest”.  He was then employed with LJT Steel Warehouse. Woot was described as a “Robin Gibb from the Bee Gee’s look alike”, and had many hobbies over the years, but never stuck to any of them. Most notably, Mitchell was extremely in love with and a devoted husband to his wife, Brenda. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Virginia Wooten, and father-in-law, Charles Grant.

 

Mitchell is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda; son, Alfie (Aleshia) Dodd; sister, Cheryl Wright; grandchildren, Urijah and Moses Dodd, brother-in-law, Michael Grant (Lynn Donlon); nieces, Alicia, Denise, and Jenny; special friend, Rick Hooper, as well as several other friends and family members.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 23, from 1–3 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Highway 58. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Joel Danley officiating.

 

Burial will be private.
