Cleveland Bell
Cleveland Bell, Jr., 76, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at his residence.
He was a 1963 graduate of Howard High School. He was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the Mass and Male Choir. Cleveland retired twice from ADM Milling Company as a mill operator and laborer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Renna Bell; son, Raymond Sterkey; daughter, Vanessa Buckner; grandson, Quincy Bell; parents, Cleveland and Florine Bell, Sr.; and six siblings.
Survivors include his son, Cleveland Bell III of Chattanooga; daughter, Tera (Alfred, Jr.) Johnson of Rock Spring, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon (Barbara) Bell of Murfreesboro, Tn., Leroy (Sharon) Bell, and Johnny Bell, both of Chattanooga; sisters, Vashti McDonald and Maelizzie (Calvin) Woods, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Sunday, June 13, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, June 14, at noon at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Williams as the eulogist. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
