Nancy Ann Gubish, 85, of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Gubish.

Born in Bethlehem, Pa., she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna (Relovsky) Chontofalsky; brother, Donald; son, Edward S.; and son-in-law, Glenn Weisner, Jr.

She is survived by daughters, Linda (Jim) Dalzell, Lori (Steve Shipley) Weisner; grandchildren: Valerie (Nick) George, Shawn (Faith Loveless) Weisner, Jimmy (MeChelle) Dalzell, and Lisa (Chris) La Brosse; great-grandchildren, Sidney, Madalyn, Camden, Alexis, Piper and Riley; brother, Richard (Pat) Chontofalsky; sisters, Barbara (Charles) Pinter and Judy (Barry) Ihle.

One month after graduating high school, she married her high school sweetheart in July 1954. While Ed was serving in the U.S. Air Force for four years, she worked for a silk mill, a County Attorney, and at Bethlehem Steel. During this time, she also had her two daughters in 1957 and 1959. After relocating to St. Petersburg, FL in 1960, she worked part-time in real estate and at a dress shop. In 1966, she started her full-time career working at IRC/TRW for 11 years. She then moved to West Palm Beach, FL where she worked at Milton Roy Company for 20 years until retirement. In 1998, she moved to Green Cove Springs, FL and then moved again in 2007 to Hixson, TN, both times to live close to her daughters.

Nancy was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hixson, where she was a member of O.W.L.S. and served on altar guild.

She enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds, attending her daughters’ yearly accordion contests, watching her grandkids play at their sporting events, volunteering at the Food Pantry, participating in YMCA Silver Sneakers, cooking, baking her delicious Hungarian kiffles, and making her infamous Mexican Spinach Salad.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga-Mountain View Team, especially caregivers Amy, Brittny, Rebecca, and Faedra.

Family and friends are invited to call at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Hixson Pike, Hixson, on Saturday, Sept. 11, between 9-10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m., also at the church.  The family respectfully requests that social distancing, wearing masks, and all CDC measures be followed at the church. Interment will be in Hellertown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
