Patsy Thornton
Patsy (Patty) Elaine Arnold Thornton, 68, of LaFayette, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Patsy was born June 28, 1954, in Trion, Ga., to Henry and Mamie Arnold. She graduated from Chattooga High School and was of the Baptist faith. Patsy worked at Caron Spinning and later for the Walker County School System as a food service worker. She was a very loving and giving lady who adored her grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew her and will live forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Lee Thornton; her parents, Henry T. and Mamie Arnold Sr.; sisters, Jessie Ivey, Anna Isom, and Josephine Cook; and brothers, Otho Arnold, Leon Arnold, Eugene Arnold, Henry T. Arnold Jr., and Noah Arnold.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Thornton; son, Ray (Kitten) Thornton; grandson, Cam Thornton; granddaughter, Dana Thornton; sisters, Kathleen (Lamar) Curvin, Juanita (Jim) Thornton, and Marilyn (Bobby) Patterson; brother, James Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rodney Blaylock officiating.
Interment will be at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Terry Dobson, Matt Thornton, Greg Chapman, Josh Tapp, Keith McKin, and Joey Thornton.
Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Purcell and Bruce Catlett.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
