Anastasia Lakos Gulas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, three days after her 93rd birthday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris John Gulas.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Carol Gulas Caldwell (Peter), Mary Gulas Malichis of Knoxville and Lea Gulas McIntyre. She was blessed with six beautiful granddaughters, Nicole (Mike), Stephanie (Emily), Samantha (Brandon), Tiffany (Brady), Alexie and Anna, as well as six great-grandsons, Christopher, James, John, Ashton, Stratton and Knox.

Anastasia was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. She will be lovingly remembered by giving back and her service to the community. She was a member of the Siskin Auxiliary and did most of her volunteer service to the CHI Memorial Auxiliary for over 58 years. Anastasia became a volunteer in 1961 and donated 10,695 hours of loving service over the course of those years. She served on the Auxiliary Board for many years, and also served as Auxiliary president from 1973-1975. Her dedication and love for Memorial and her volunteer service was evident in all she did. Anastasia never met a stranger, was always dressed to the nines, and was most stylish in her volunteer uniform as she walked the halls for many years wearing her fashionable heels and jewelry. She was fierce and passionate. Her spunk and spirit will be missed by many.

The family will be having a private graveside service for her at the National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.
