Clanton Claims Knoxville Late Model Nationals Thursday Opener In Iowa

Shane Clanton (aka The Georgia Giant) of Zebulon, led flag to flag Thursday night in the 25-lap Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series opener at the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa.
 
Clanton, piloting his #25 Skyline Motorsports "Bennett Explosives, Super K Express, Skyline Materials" sponsored Capital racecars, powered by Clements Racing Engines, earned $7,000 for his sixth LODLM series victory.
 
Earl Pearson Jr of Jacksonville, Florida and Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville finished second and third respectfully.
Newport's Jimmy Owens was 7th and Mike Marlar of Winfield was 12th overall.
