Hicks, Marvin Donald, Sr. "Don" (Trenton)

Marvin Donald (Don) Hicks, Sr., 75, of Trenton, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday January 22, 2023.

Don was a devoted husband, loving father and proud papa. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and served his community in healthcare and law enforcement for over 35 years. Don was a member of Trenton United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Dillard Hicks and Lerlene Gray Hicks, and his brother, Lester Gregory Hicks.

Don is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Ann Patterson Hicks; his daughters, Christy Hicks and Shannon (Buddy) Palmer; son, DJ (Jennifer) Hicks; and grandchildren, Apollo and Aurora Hicks.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Reese Fauscett & Rev. Dennis Flaugher officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton.
