Lee University volleyball graduate student athlete Abby Stroh was named a First Team All-Gulf South Conference member as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. A four time GSC Honor roll student-athlete, it is the first time that Stroh has been named to an All-Conference team.
Stroh has had another stand out year. She has 302 kills which is third most in the GSC and has surpassed over 1000 kills in her career. She leads the GSC and is 19th in the nation in services aces and at 0.54 SA/S is 27th in the nation.
She is also 3rd in the GSC in points with 366 which averages out to 3.70 per set. She also racked up over 276 digs for 976 digs in her career. She has more than 20 assists as an outside hitter. She has also contributed to 18 blocks.
Stroh is the first player to be on an all-conference team since Emma Flowers was on the second team in 2021. The last time Lee had a first team all-conference member was in 2018 when Silvia Satori and MaKayla Beebe were named to the team.
Head Coach Christa Fabre was excited for the recognition from Stroh. “Abby has been such a gift to Lee Volleyball and has added so much value to our team. She is unique in her strength on and off the court and her ability to lead with consistency and confidence. She has gotten us back in some matches with strong opponents because of her aggressive top spin serve- there isn’t anyone in the conference that can serve the ball with that kind of power. She is consistent all the way around, adding strong serve receive, 3.21 digs per set in conference and powerful attacks front row. She brings maturity and assurance to our program and I’m so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to coach her this year.”
The Lady Flames will take on Mississippi College in the first round of the GSC tournament on Tuesday, Nov 14. at 7 PM EST in Clinton, Miss.
