Native Chattanoogan, Peter Thomas Galletta died on August 15, 2023, following a seven-
year battle with colon cancer. He was 44.
A graduate of Notre Dame High School, he attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State Community College. He was a licensed massage therapist and a Certified Medical Assistant who earned an associate's degree at Chattanooga College. At the time of his death, he was employed by University Rheumatology Associates.
An avid fisherman who tied his own trout flies, he was a woodworker and watercolor artist. A music and movie buff, he was known for clever wordplay, personal warmth and dry wit.
He is survived by parents, Fred and Jan Galletta; brother, Joe (Nicole) Galletta; niece, Charley Galletta and nephew, Wyatt Galletta, all of Chattanooga. Additional survivors out-of-state include numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral mass will be help at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy, Tn., where he was a member on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 am. The family will greet friends at the church for an hour prior to mass.
