James Ernest Lawson, 73, of Ringgold, passed away at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

He was born March 29, 1951, in Chattanooga to the late Clarence “Red” and Peggy Sue Lawson. James was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area and of the Church of God faith. He served his country in the United States Air Force and worked for Lifetouch in the maintenance department. He enjoyed reading and listening to classic rock music. James was a loving family man who was always kind and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Glenn Lawson, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa (Brent) Edgeman; grandchildren, Kaenix and Ollie Edgeman; siblings, Phil Lawson, Pam Lawson and Joe (Kathy) Lawson; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eddie Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
