Carol Sue McCuiston Hughes, 82, of East Lake, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Carol was born in Chattanooga, to the late Louis Andrew and Mary Matthews McCuiston. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of Memorial Baptist of Rossville. She retired from First Tenneessee Bank where she worked as the operations manager. Carol had also worked at Dixie Yarn and Erlanger Baroness Hospital for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had been a longtime bowler.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Marion “Dude” Hughes, sisters: Dorothy Overturf, Betty Selbe and brother: Harold Martin.

She is survived by her daughter: Amy Hughes (Jon) Roberts of Chickamauga, grandchildren: Jillian Roberts, Sophie (Michael) King, Maguire Roberts, great grandson: Dutton Weiss King, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 29, in the chapel with Dr. James Selbe and Dr. Tim Owens officiating. Entombment will follow in Lomenique Cemetery and Mausoleum, East Ridge, Tenneessee.
