Red Clay State Historic Park Hosts Cherokee Cultural Celebration August 9-10

Red Clay State Historic Park will host the Cherokee Cultural Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10, featuring demonstrations, traditional dancing, craft vendors, and food vendors from federally recognized Cherokee tribes. The public is invited to the event scheduled 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost is $5 per vehicle. I received a text at 12:39 p.m. from my child who was in the UTC library, stating, “School Shooter”. I went cold, but tried to jump into action. As I was hustling out the door of my office texting that I was on my way, she texted “We’re Ok. With police”. She was in the library. She advised that the school was on lockdown and the police were directing the group she was with to a safe place. Paige Thomas Leads Mocs' Soccer To 5-3 Win Over Indiana State

The Chattanooga women’s soccer team came away with a 5-3 win over Indiana State Thursday night with four different goal scorers to improve to 2-1 on the year. Indiana State got the scoring started with a goal 13 minutes into the match. Alex Lehnert tallied her fourth goal of the season to make it 1-0.
