Geraldine Burch "Gerry" Kingsley, 63, of Cedar Grove, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004.
She was a native of Harlem, Ga., and had resided in Cedar Grove for many years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Ladies Auxiliary, Community Club and enjoyed overseeing the coed softball league. She was a former paraprofessional with the Walker County Board of Education in the special education department at Wallaceville and Ridgeland schools.
The Kingsleys operated the dairy at the Polk Smartt farm in Chattanooga Valley prior to buying their own dairy farm at the Cedar Grove community at McLemore's Cove.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ray Kingsley; father and stepmother, Alvin Levy and Frances Burch of Riverdale, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Cindy Kingsley of Cedar Grove, daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Beau Griffith of Southwest City, Mo., Tina Kingsley of Cedar Grove, and Wendy and Sammy Kendall of Chickamauga; sisters, Phyllis Ashley of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Kathy Gold of the Philippines, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday at 10 a.m. till the service.
Services will be at noon Wednesday in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville.
