Addie Ables Dougan, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2004.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of the Church of Christ. She retired from Signal Knitting Mills with over 40 years of service. She was a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at Airways Boulevard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julie Lewis Ables; son, George William Spring; sisters, Pearl Lane and Naomia Grant, and brothers, Coy Ables and Clarence Ables.
She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Golston and Candie “Joyce” Quinn; grandchildren, Debbie Williams, Linda Delahay, Rusty Prater, Vince Campbell; great-grandchildren, William Delahay, Matthew Delahay, Sara Campbell; brother, Creed Ables; sisters, Gladys Johnson, Marietta Proctor, Louise Roberts; special lifelong friend, Irene Howard, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Don Hawkins officiating.
Burial will be at National Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
