James Deward Casson, 82, a resident of Ooltewah, died on Sunday, April 30, 2006, following a brief illness.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the 8th Air Force in England and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1289 and American Legion Post 93. He was retired from Red Ball Freight Company.
His parents, Eddie B. and Mamie Murray Casson, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeane Cannon Casson, of Ooltewah; one son, Tony R. Casson and wife, Cindy, of Killen, AL; one daughter, Nancy J. Diegel and husband, Archie, of Ooltewah; grandchildren, Heather Casson, of Killen, AL, 1st Lt. Joshua and 1st Lt. Vickie Casson; and great-granddaughter, Evie, of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and one sister, Edwina Dill, of Cleveland.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
