Don Preston Chambers, 66, died on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007.
He was born to the late Robert Lee and Eva Preston Chambers in DeKalb County, Ala., on June 7, 1940. He was a member of Kensington Church of God and retired from U.S. Pipe after 35 years of service.
He also was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Headrick; sister, Doris Chambers; grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. W.H. Preston.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wright Chambers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy D. and B obby Baker, Denise J. and the Rev. John Headrick, all of Rossville, sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Dennis W. and Kay Chambers, of LaFayette, Ga., Darrell C. and Kathy Chambers, of Ringgold, Ga.; brothers, D.L. Chambers of Douglasville, Ga., Kerry Chambers of Leesburg, Al.; grandchildren, Reverend Chad and Amber Baker, Rachel Baker, Jeremy and Caleb Headrick, Tara, Sonya and Tyler Chambers, Lance Cpl. William Chambers, Allison, Shane and Summer Chambers; great-grandson, Brodie Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tim Ashley, the Rev. Max Kessler and the Rev. Dennis Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
His family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
