John “Sam” Samuel Johnson, 88, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a former employee of Ross-Meehan Foundary where he worked for 45 years and attended Shadow Ridge Worship Center in Varnell, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Collins Johnson; parents, John and Florence Lynn Johnson; daughter, Reba Joyce Johnson; and brother, Joe Johnson.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Onie Mae and Larry Mullins, of Madison, Al., and Mary Helen and Chesley Lamar Crow, of Dalton; one brother, Herman Johnson, of Lincoln Park, Mi.; four grandsons, David Mullins, of New Market, Al., Roy and Kristi McDaniel, of Acworth, Ga., Andrew and Shelley Mullins, of Toney, Al., and John “Sam” McDaniel, of Dalton; four great-grandchildren, Megan, Michael, William and Garrett Mullins, all of Toney, Al.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery, Ringgold.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. on Wednesday until funeral time at the funeral home.
