Anne Gudger
Aennegret M. Gudger Hofbauer, 86, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Decmber 23, 2008, while briefly in a local hospital.
She was born in Bremen, Germany, the daughter of Hans and Karoline Bensemann.
She was devoted to her family. She is survived by her son, Rolf Hofbauer, his wife, Susan; grandson, Jon Hofbauer, and his two daughters, Halee and Elexis; and several cousins in Germany.
Arriving in the United States in l954, Anne had lived in Hixson the remainder of her years on earth. She was loved by all who had the pleasure of sharing her life. It was not an easy life for her, but she was courageous and determined to be a good provider and mother.
Although sometimes stoic and stubborn on the outside, she had a heart of gold, caring about everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing her. She always gave back ten-fold that which was received. Anne's courage and fortitude in the face of much adversity made her the wonderful person that she was and always will be.
Her wonderful ability as a seamstress has enabled her to leave behind treasures that can never be replaced just as she can or will never be.
In addition to her family, Anne also leaves behind her church, her Golden Girls knitting class and her church family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Hixson Pike. Pastor Schimmer will be officiating.
The family requests in lieu of any flowers, that a contribution be made in Anne's name to her church so that others may be helped.
