Barnyard Auction To Raise Scholarship Funds For Women Set For Oct. 22

  • Tuesday, August 25, 2009

The annual Barnyard Auction will be held Oct. 22 at The Chattanoogan. Auction sponsor EWI of Chattanooga focuses on promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement.

This blue jean event will raise scholarship funds for recipients of the Jean Bradford Scholarship at UTC and Chattanooga State.

EWI President-Elect and CEO of Luken Holdings, Inc. Lynda Childress said, “As a single mom who earned my degree, I am passionate about helping other single moms. Our greatest source of help comes from funds raised at our spontaneously wild and fun evening at our 12th annual Barnyard Auction."

“Having this much fun in one evening should be a crime,” said Margaret Browning with Coca-Cola Bottling Company. “This is one event you won’t want to miss. Bring your dollars and be prepared for a fun night out.”

Tickets for the event are $35 including dinner, or $300 for a table of 10. Corporate sponsorships are also available. Over $20,000 worth of donated goods and services will be auctioned, including overnight stays in other cities, electronics including an HDTV, golf packages, sports packages, spa packages and more. Bids start at $1.

"Knowing the same money that goes to win a fabulous prize at the auction also supports the education of those in need in our own community is an amazing feeling,” says auction Chairperson Jody Hermann of Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Inc.
