County Commissioner Jim Coppinger on Wednesday honored three Dallas Bay firefighters including Fire Chief Markus Fritz for their role in saving the life of fellow firefighter Ken Bingham.

Chief Fritz along with Dallas Bay Firefighters Jody Meeks and Steve Wolfe rushed to the aid of fellow Dallas Bay Firefighter Ken Bingham after a propane tank explosion at Bingham’s home.

In the aftermath of that explosion, Mr. Bingham collapsed from heat exhaustion and went into full cardiac arrest.

Chief Fritz along with firefighters Meeks and Wolfe acted quickly, establishing a breathing airway for the stricken Bingham, saving his life.
