Blanche Bowman Delany, 106, died on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Even after she turned a century old she was still active in her senior group. Mrs. Delany was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Tn., and moved to Chattanooga where she was a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hahn Bowman and Harriett Banks Bowman; her husband, Michael Lewis “Irish” Delany; granddaughter, Kathleen Ogle and great-grandson, Keith Pinckard.
Survivors include her daughters, Jo Delany Pinckard of Chattanooga, Rebecca Delaney Ogle of Houston, Tx.; grandchildren, Mike (Frances) Pinckard of Chattanooga, Dee (Debbie) Pinckard of Knoxville, Scott (Betsy) Pinckard of Hamilton, Ga., Marcy (Alan) Hall of Ringgold, Mark (Donna) Ogle of Arlington, Tx., Tammy Ogle of Monte Carlo, Monaco, and Kimberly (Charles) Newcomb of Houston, Tx.; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cleveland, Tn.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, March 15, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to the numerous individuals who assisted in Mrs. Delany’s care.
