Gabriel Newell has become a fixture on the Chattanooga music scene in pretty quick order. He can be found at music venues throughout town, including the Tremont Tavern, Market Street Tavern, The Mudpie, and even T-Bones. He just came off an appearance at Riverbend. He went with the Chattanooga Invasion to Eddies Attic in Atlanta. There’s a reason you see him out playing – he’s good. Sometimes solo, sometimes duet, and sometimes with a band called Muddy Soul, Newell is in demand. He is a good guitar player and has a soulful voice. Don’t take my word for it, go here to hear for yourself. Or better yet, go see him live! He will be at the Tremont Tavern this Friday.

Nightfall returns this Friday! The Farewell Drifters come to Miller Plaza Friday evening and I bet this will be one of the best shows of the year. Locally based Barefoot Nellie opens the night at 7 p.m. As usual, Nightfall has perfectly matched the opening act with the headliner. For more info just click here, but please come back!

Riverbend is over, but your pin is worth admission to the Chattanooga Classic Golf Tournament. Find out more about the tourney by clicking here, or here.

Remember Jammer, the former WGOW radio talk show host? Well, the word on the street is that he will be back on the microphone from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily, perhaps at WPLZ FM 95.3. I haven’t confirmed it with station management, but look for an announcement soon. (Like maybe today!) As usual, you heard it here first.

This Saturday, June 26 the Mountain Arts Community Center on Signal Mountain will revive its coffeehouse. During renovations being done on MACC's roof, this will be held at Sweet Gipsy Coffee Shop. For info and location click here.

This Saturday, the lineup is:
7 p.m. The Orchard Band with Paul Hendricks, Alice and Robert Thatcher
8 p.m. Zach Laliberte
9 p.m. open mike/jam - bring your instrument and perform or play along with everyone
