Margaret Ann Hall Roberson, 88, died on Sunday, June 6, 2010 after a long illness.

She was born in Spivey, Ks., on December 29, 1921. During World War II, Mrs. Roberson worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Ks. There, she met her husband, Cliff Roberson, and married on November 5, 1945. In 1947, they moved to Chattanooga where they made their home for the last 63 years.

Mrs. Roberson was an active volunteer throughout her life. She served as the chairman of church activities, Girl Scout activities, PTA service projects and school activities. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the Nancy Ward Chapter.

Since 1959, she was responsible for the care and maintenance of the Brainerd Mission Cemetery. Mrs. Roberson was instrumental in making the public aware of the importance of the Brainerd Mission Cemetery to protect and preserve this important historic landmark for the citizens of Chattanooga.

Mrs. Roberson was an avid genealogist and spent 40 years researching her family. She was locally known for her accuracy and attention to detail and volunteered many hours to help others in the research of their families.

Mrs. Roberson was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Lura McAllister Hall, and one brother, Andy Hall.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cliff Roberson; one daughter, Diantha Swift (Steve) of Rockville, Md.; two sons, John Roberson (Connie) of Five Points, Tn., and K.C. Roberson (Debbie) of St. Joseph, Tn. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Amanda Lay, Amelia Lovette (Lance), Blaine Lay, Travis Lay, Katie Roberson Motlow (Will), Justin Roberson, Olivia Roberson, Bryan Roberson, Natalie Roberson, Rebecca Roberson, Christopher Roberson, Nicholas Roberson and Catherine Roberson; one great-grandchild, Lura Lovette, and 25 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Roberson is survived by her siblings, two brothers, Don Hall (Linda) of Howard, Ks., Phil Hall (Juanita) of Longmont, Co., and one sister, Trudi Lindig of Lawrence, Ks.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Brown of the Pilgrim Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
