Inella R. Nance, 78, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at her residence.

She was a member of St. Marys Primitive Baptist Church and retired from the Chattanooga Public School System as a teacher's aide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Nance; parents; and two brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Alvin (Jackie) Nance, of Knoxville, Russell Nance, of Chattanooga, and John Nance, of Atlanta; daughters, Carolyn (Anthony) Upshaw, Shelia (Michael) Knight and Cathey Nance Odum, all of Chattanooga; 19 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Etta (William) Jordan, Annie Dean, both of Huntsville, Al. and Susie Green, of Gurley, Al.; sister-in-law, Esther Rigney, of Hunstville; goddaughters, Talitha Ison and Judy Johnson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many special friends. A special thanks to Cindy Roth and Hospice of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Moore officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

The body will lie in state on Friday, Sept. 10, after noon at the funeral home.
