Dr. Nell Mohney, a motivational speaker and author and teacher of the Downtown Singles Sunday School Class, will be the preacher for the 10:45 a.m. worship service on Sunday in the sanctuary of First-Centenary United Methodist Church.
Her sermon will be "Do You Have Alligator Arms?" The day is the eve of Dr. Mohney's 90th birthday and a reception in Mohney Hall celebrating her birthday will follow the service.
The Rev. Brian Davis will speak on "Live Like Tomorrow is a Gift" at both the 8:30 a.m. sanctuary service and 10:45 a.m. service at The Vine. His text will be Matthew 25:14-30.
Parent's Tailgate will be Sunday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Oak Street Center. Come for coffee and tailgate breakfast foods.
On Wednesday night, following dinner at 5:15-6 p.m., a special guest speaker in the class on "Living the Questions, Call to Covenant," will be Roger Redding, executive director of the Holston Conference UMC Foundation Inc.
