John Loyd Bryant, 87, of the Deep Springs Community, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lora Page Bryant; a son, Jerry Loyd Bryant; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Kathleen Kinnamon.
Mr. Bryant was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church and was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Irene Coker Bryant of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Mike Hill and Cheryl and Randall Richards, all of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Belinda Bryant of Acworth; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn H. and Margaret Bryant of Dalton; grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer White, Haley and Charles Addis, Evan White, Wesley Bryant, Kimberly Bryant Rick, Jarrod and Rebekah Autry, and Matt and Joy Autry; great-grandchildren, Lillie and Sydney Addis, Lucy and Julia White, Brylee Autry and Trinity Woody; brothers and sisters-in-law, C.L. and Sue Coker, Vernon and Hazel Coker, and Carley Kinnamon, all of Dalton; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Bryant will be held Monday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Kidd, Rev. Trammell Campbell, and Bro. Joe Spann officiating. Burial will be in Deep Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 1, from 12-2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted, or contributions can be made to the Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
