Tommy Barnes
Thomas Floyd "Tommy" Barnes, 60, was called home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bertha and Berry Butler, father Floyd Barnes, aunts and uncles Robert and Florence Butler and Claude and Betty Fox.
Tommy was a gentle spirit and was very proud of his Native American heritage. He was a great storyteller and loved his family. He loved to fish, loved the beach and to the dismay of other family members, he loved the Florida Gators. He had worked as a chef in Florida, New York and New Orleans. He owned and operated a lawn service and later a produce stand.
Survivors are his beloved mother, Irene Barnes, sister, Sanda (Fred) Mohr, nephews, Alex and Erick (Sara) Mohr, cousins, Kathy (Art) Higley and Wanda Fox, cousins, Doris and Phyllis Butler and his grandnieces, Miya and Sky.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home and from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Gossett officiating. Interment will be in Boydston Cemetery.
