10th Annual Victims' Rights Luncheon Is April 24

  • Wednesday, March 28, 2012

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 22-28) will be recognized in Chattanooga and Hamilton County with a luncheon on April 24, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

The key speakers for this year’s event will be Mrs. Donna Burns, who lost her daughter to domestic violence, Chattanooga Police Officer Lorin Johnston who was shot by the same individual who shot and killed Chattanooga Police Sgt. Tim Chapin and Mrs. Jan Ramsey, who lost her father to a vicious murder.

The event is sponsored by The Partnership Family Violence Center; Hamilton County Coalition; the 11th Judicial District Attorney General; U.S. Attorney, Eastern TN District; Hamilton Co. Health Department; Corrections Corporation of America and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Organizers said, "Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim evokes our hopes for the future and a “vision” most people know little about.  By working with the area law enforcement and social service agencies we can increase our concern for crime victims and support for advancing their rights."

Registration and payment for the event can be done online at www.partnershipfca.com/victimsrights.
