Betty Branam
Betty Faye Shell Branam, 79, an extraordinary caregiver herself, died, having succumbed to her illness on June 7, 2012, in a local hospital.
She worked at a variety of jobs in several different cities, wherever her husband was assigned. She was an active member of her community giving her own brand of care to those who might need it, or sharing her time along with others coping with like problems.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Tora Shell, brothers, Haskell and Bill Shell, and sister, Evelyn Richardson.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob and her two sons, Bob II of Los Angeles, and John of East Ridge, sister, Margaret Decker of East Ridge, and brother, Bervin (Hazel) Shell of Graysville, Tn.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 10, from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 11, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Reverend Lee Griggs officiating. Interment will be in the National Cemetery.
