He was the son of the late Troy and Kathryne Braswell. Bill was a devoted husband and father. Bill was a veteran, serving as Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and the United States Marines.  He was retired from DuPont and loved to golf, bowl, and watch the Tennessee Vols.  He was a member of Clear Creek church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Dean Braswell.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Braswell Gilbert (Tim) of Ooltewah; son, William Bradley Braswell, Sr. (Melissa) of Ooltewah; five grandchildren, Bailey and Delaney Gilbert and Bradley, Blake and Briggs Braswell; two brothers, Charles Braswell of Knoxville, and James Braswell of Marietta, GA; two sisters, Marilyn Hestle of Franklin, TN, and Frances McNeil of Brentwood, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
