Hixson's Magnificent Tree Is Gone

  • Monday, January 7, 2013

The most beautiful tree in Hixson is gone.

It stood in all its glory on Gadd Road, just down from Walgreens.

The workhorse of the plant world, this gem must have done overtime collecting carbon dioxide and giving us back oxygen because of its great size. It also gave cooling shade to several duplexes on the block. It had the most perfectly shaped habit, a magnificent specimen, great value for your real estate.

But now all that’s left is a mutilated, grotesque stump, of a once regal queen.

I don’t know why they did this to you. I won’t be driving down that road any more. It’s just too painful to look at.
