William Peter Lee, 96, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran World War II where he served in the U.S. Navy. He was born in Leeds, AL, the son of Bertie and Charles Theodore Lee. He married Ruth Simpson in May of 1938.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Theodore and Bertie; siblings, Charles, Sarah, Caroline and James; son, William; and grandson, William Kent.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Sandra Purper; grandchildren, Robert (Susan) Sturm, Diane, widow of William Kent, John (Karen) Sturm and Elizabeth (Logan) Hurst; and great-grandchildren, John (Vanessa), Michael, Evan, Kaleigh and Matthew Sturm.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Forrest Cemetery in Farragut, TN.
Family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
