George Carl Ferrell, 84, of Red Bank, died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his home.  

He was born in Murfreesboro, Tn., on May 26, 1929, to William and Bernice Ferrell. He was employed at American Lava, 3M and GE for 36 years and retired from there.  

Carl was an active member of Red Bank United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed volunteering with the Thursday Men’s Group and member of the Shaw Murray Sunday School Class until poor health nine years ago.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Dee Ferrell and Alton Don Ferrell.  

Carl is survived by his wife, Sue Stubblefield Ferrell; two sons, Richard William (Mary Lynn) Ferrell and John Daniel (Deloris) Ferrell; four grandchildren, Chris, Daniel and Kelly Ferrell and Ashley Ferrell (Brian) Williams; and three great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, in the chapel with Reverend Jeff Lambert officiating.  

Visitation will follow the service and there will be a private burial. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Red Bank United Methodist Church.
