Korean War Veteran Had Long Career In Textile Industry

James Edgar Sampson, Jr., 77, of Rossville, died on Thursday, January 31, 2013 in a local hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Rossville areas, Mr. Sampson was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and had worked in the textile industry for many years.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Hannah Sampson.

Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Sampson Jones, Calhoun, Ga.; son, Lamar Sampson, Rossville; grandchildren, Tori Jones, Brandon Sampson and Jessica English.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Don Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
