Rep. Deffenbaugh: Georgia House Passes Ethics Bill

This week at the Georgia House we passed HB142 which is the Ethics Bill.  HB142 bands most lobbyist expenditures such as no small group meals, no golf, no sporting event tickets, no air tickets, and no lodging.  This ban also includes spouses and other family members.

The HB142 was passed with overwhelming support of the House.  There are many other restrictions also included in this bill that allows for more transparency both for the office holder and the lobbyist community.

HB142 is on its way to the Senate for consideration.

Rep. John Deffenbaugh
District 1
