Notre Dame's Simpson Signs With Tulsa Rowing

  • Thursday, April 18, 2013

Notre Dame's Lauren Simpson signed a national letter of intent in the John Varallo Athletic Center on the campus of Notre Dame High School to become a new team member of the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes.

Thanks to her hard work both in the classroom and on the water, she will be receiving a combination of academic and rowing scholarship.

During the signing, Lauren’s father Mark praised both Notre Dame and Chattanooga Junior Rowing for developing his daughter’s talents to make her an attractive candidate for a Division l college rowing program.

“Her teachers honed her academic talent, and the Principal’s administrative assistant working in the front office - noting how tall she was - asked a pivotal question: ‘Have you ever thought about rowing?’ This concern about all students is emblematic the great care and esteem held by every employee at Notre Dame High School where the students are all cherished and treated as an extension of the family.”
