Sandra Higgins
Sandra Grant Higgins, 71, of East Ridge, died on August 9, 2013 surrounded by family.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; everyone that knew her loved her. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Higgins was a dedicated and active member of the Spring Creek Road Baptist Church family and participated in countless church activities.
She was formerly employed with Dixie Yarns for more than 30 years. She has served as the site supervisor with Galen Medical Group for the past 10 years and was dedicated to her work family. She was active in American Business Women, Southern Stars and ChattABWA chapters.
Survivors are her husband, Bill Higgins; daughter, Elizabeth (Mac) Hedges, Signal Mountain; Brother Calvin (Paulette) Grant, East Ridge; stepfather Roy Wilson, Signal Moutain; grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Bell, Whitney Bell, Jan Hedges, McLain Hedges, Marianne Henigar and Katy Higgins; stepson, Stacey (Susan) Higgins and stepdaughter, Lynn (Tom) Latimore, all of Chattanooga; nephews, Phil (Sandy) Grant and Brad Grant and several special aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Erlanger, Memorial and Siskin Hospitals, Hospice of Chattanooga and her special caregiver, Evelyn Russell.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Road Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Reverend James Julian and Reverend David Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Reverend Harold McClure officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and Monday, one hour prior to the service at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
