Richard L. Brooks, 81,of Trenton, GA, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013, at his home.
He was a US Army veteran who served his country during the Korean War. He was a retired shipping manager and a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Trenton, GA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frankie Lawson Brooks; his parents, Ezra and Ida Powell Brooks; and brothers, James and Kenneth Brooks.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his brothers, Lester, Paul and Charles Brooks; sister, Frances Pearson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 22, at 11 a.m. CDT, with Bro. Chris Kilgore and Jim Lilly officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 21, from 1-8 p.m. CDT.
