The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency announced the addition of a new Information and Education Coordinator in East Tennessee’s Region four.

Matthew Cameron was selected by the TWRA to act as the new face of the Agency in East Tennessee and will be the point of contact for public information.

Mr. Cameron has served as a TWRA Wildlife and Boating Enforcement Officer for 10 years and has also represented the Agency as an interim I&E coordinator.  He was chosen for his dedication to professionalism, his skills in coordinating with the media, and his recent efforts in continuing his education in mass communications.  He also brings with him valuable field experience gained from serving as a public information officer in high profile boating accidents and issues of public interest.

Mr. Cameron will also be in charge of education and outreach programs which are designed to help recruit new sportsmen and women as well as educate the public on the Agency’s programs. Mr. Cameron said, “Outreach and education are vital keys to the success of our Agency’s conservation and management programs and in ensuring that the ancient tradition of hunting and fishing continues for generations to come.”
