Bassoon Quartet Has Concert Oct. 6

  • Thursday, September 19, 2013

A Bassoon Quartet Concert will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 211 Franklin Road on Lookout Mountain Sunday, Oct. 6. The concert will take place in the Church's Sanctuary beginning at 4 p. m.

According to Katherine Philp, one of the bassoonists, "This is a special musical event for the Chattanooga area because there is no history of a bassoon quartet performing here. This will be a first.”

In addition to Ms. Philp, the quartet includes Eric Anderson and Rachael Young, both of whom are bassoonists with the Chattanooga Symphony, as well as Larisa Westmoreland, who teaches bassoon at Southern Adventist University. The audience can anticipate some jazz and contemporary in addition to classical music.

This is a family friendly performance with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
