  • Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Regent Jo Hill, of the Nancy Ward Chapter of the DAR, delivered books to four elementary schools and four middle schools in the Hamilton County area. The books were about the Pledge of Allegiance, American Indians, King George of England and the American flag.

The schools accepting the books were East Ridge Middle and Elementary School, Dalewood Middle and Elementary School, Spring Creek Elementary and Middle School and Boyd Buchanan Elementary and Middle School.

The books were given to increase the students knowledge of the country and to encourage them to read.

The DAR is committed to literacy for children.
