Barking Legs Theater will open its doors Friday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. to begin a new chapter in its ongoing mission to serve as a creative outlet that provides live entertainment and performances for community members and visitors alike. BLT welcomes the community to come see the changes and celebrate its expansion.
In late July, shows and classes were temporarily suspended while co-owners Ann Law and Dr. Bruce Kaplan placed focus of the redevelopment through public – private support from community foundations, Benwood and Lyndhurst, and a grassroot fundraising campaign through Causeway.org.
“The renovation has been all about enhancing our audience's experience at Barking Legs,” says Dr. Kaplan. “People expect expansion, but we are actually more intimate, but with greater comfort and more amenities. I don't want to spoil the fun you'll have discovering Barking Legs 2.0, so you'll have to come on down to see for yourselves.”
The new bar will be open at the celebration, and there will also be dance music, videos documenting the 20 year history, plus a special cake to commemorate the occasion. Other than the beer, the evening is free.
