Techtown Announces Permanent Home In Downtown Chattanooga

  • Friday, October 24, 2014
TechTown, a technology and entrepreneurial innovation center for children, will make its permanent home at 325 Market St. in downtown Chattanooga.

"Centrally located, historic, and full of possibilities, we couldn’t have imagined a better home for TechTown," said Paul Cummings, founder. “When we were looking for a location for TechTown, we wanted a creative space, and something with a lot of room for growth, but also convenient for both public and private schools. At 325 Market St., we can contribute to the vibrant downtown culture.”

TechTown will serve as both an economic development hub and a state-of-the-art technology center.
Children from ages 7 to 17 will have access to the facility after school and on Saturdays. The innovation center will focus on programming, robotics, circuitry, 3D printing, videography, design, and much more.

An additional focus of TechTown will be enhancing community outreach working alongside non-profit organizations, educational entities, and companies. TechTown seeks to encourage the advancement of local companies through use of the facility and its resources and will also be used for economic development with partners across the region.

Noon Management, LLC purchased the building at 325 Market St. (previously the Chattanooga Lifestyles Building) from Erlanger; TechTown will anchor the building, opening its headquarters on the second floor by summer 2015.
