The Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club is hosting a Rally for the Cure®  Tennis Event Sunday October 19. Rally for the Cure is a grass roots program that works to educate women about breast cancer and remind them to get their annual screening through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events.

More than two million people have participated in Rally events across the nation since its inception in 1996. This is the first year Fairland Club has participated in the event.

The day’s activities will include a quiz on breast cancer, a prize shootout, corn hole, horseshoes, and round robin doubles from 4-6 p.m. The Club will also host a Gamma Demo Day, where players can try out Gamma racquets and hit for prizes. Two Rally Door  Prizes will be awarded, prizes for winners of serving contest ( “Hit the Target” ) and each participant will receive a goody bag with important breast health information and other Rally items plus a subscription to a select Condé Nast magazine such as SELF, Golf Digest and Bon Appétit.

“We are proud to open our facility and host a Rally for the Cure event. The event is a fun way for us to bring together our members and the community to support an important cause while playing a sport they are passionate about,” states  Fairyland Club Manager Bob Guth.

For more information about Fairyland Club’s Rally event, contact Sue Webb at fctennis@epbfi.com or call 706-841-1950

Since its start in 1996, the Rally program has touched over 2 million people with the important message that early detection and effective treatment saves lives. In addition to mobilizing people behind breast cancer awareness, Rally events have generated over $75 million for Susan G. KomenTM.

”The success of Rally is attributed to volunteer ambassadors like, Bob Guth and Sue Webb, who have said ‘Yes we can have a Rally at our club’. It is their  enthusiasm, energy and support we value in our commitment to support Susan G. Komen,” says Diane Perillo, Program Manager, Rally for the Cure.
